About Us

ICAN, the Institute for Children of All Nations, is part of Great Wall China Adoption  and Children of All Nations. We have been a leader in international adoption for over 15 years. Among the 5,000 adoptions we have facilitated, many of these are waiting children. We strongly believe that children with special needs are the most vulnerable and most in need of loving homes. We began to place waiting children over 10 years ago and are very proud to say we have placed over 700 waiting children and counting.

Due to our success in placing waiting children, the Chinese government invited our organization to host and sponsor a Hope Trip Camp for children with special needs. The week long camp included 46 children with severe special needs. Our agency had medical doctors, therapists, and social workers attend the camp. The professionals evaluated the children, bringing back their evaluations for help in placing those children.

Our Waiting Child Team consists of licensed master level social workers, therapists, child development staff, education counseling staff, and physicians specializing in children with special needs. We also collaborate with the Child and Family Center for Innovative Research at the University of Houston.
